Walk With a Scholar at College

Walk with a Scholar (WWS) is a novel and flagship initiative, started in the college from 2014-15 under the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala

Mentoring is a term generally used to describe a relationship between a less experienced individual, called a mentee and a more experienced individual known as a mentor. Traditionally, mentoring is viewed as a face to face, long term relationship between a supervisory adult and a novice student that fosters the menteeā€™s professional, academic or personal development. To fulfil this objective, Office of the New Initiatives in Higher Education, Directorate of Collegiate Education Government of Kerala arranged a specialized mentoring programme named Walk with a Scholar for students of under Graduate Programs in Arts, Science and Commerce and to provide guidance for their future, Al-Ameen College introduced the idea of mentoring for students entering the first year of the Under Graduate Programme of Study to prepare them for employment and give them necessary guidance, motivation and necessary mental support to identify appropriate areas for higher study as well as employment.
